Alexander Spanner, joined Lanyon Bowdler initially as a legal assistant in 2016, commenced his training contract with the firm in 2019, and was admitted in September 2021. In June 2024 Alexander was promoted to associate solicitor.
During his training, Alexander spent two of his seats within the Personal Injury Team, which allowed him to gain full and comprehensive insight into personal injury work.
Although he has only been qualified for two and a half years, Alexander has benefitted hugely from working closely with Dawn Humphries, partner and Head of Department. He has built up considerable experience and assists in high value brain injury, amputation, fatal and criminal injury claims providing a highly valued contribution to these cases. The cases he works on often involve complex legal and medical issues.
He prepares complex Schedules of Loss on Dawn Humphries’ cases and routinely receives positive feedback from Senior Counsel for the precision and detail with which they are prepared. He also excels in analysing expert evidence in a detailed and concise manner, covering key evidential points as well as other Court documents.
Alexander works closely with and acts as a mentor to the junior members within the department.
Alexander also has a personal interest in personal injury law relating to sporting injuries and has appeared in a number of episodes of the Legal Lounge podcast talking about this area.
