The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published its planned increases to statutory sick pay (SSP) and pay relating to statutory family-related leave from April 2025.
The weekly rate of SSP will be £118.75 (up from £116.75).
The maximum weekly rate of statutory maternity allowance, statutory adoption, paternity, shared parental and parental bereavement pay and, after the first 6 weeks, statutory maternity pay will be £187.18 (up from £184.30).
The lower earnings limit (the weekly earnings threshold for qualifying for the above payments, except maternity allowance) will be £125 (up from £123). For maternity allowance the threshold will remain at £30 a week.
The new rates represent an increase of 1.7% in line with CPI to September 2024. The figures, and the date from which they will apply, will need to be formalised in an Order, which must be laid before Parliament. SSP rates usually increase from 6 April and the family rated payment from the first Sunday in April.
