Nothing Left to Partner
Challenging the Validity of a Will.
There are certain circumstances when it’s necessary to challenge the validity of a will after someone has died.
If you feel the need to challenge a will, it can be a daunting prospect, but our experienced specialists can give you expert advice about the options available to you.
Our lawyers can carry out investigations on your behalf to find out what circumstances the will was written under, which can include contacting the solicitors who originally prepared the will, as well as taking statements from the witnesses and friends and family of the deceased if necessary.
We are also able to access the deceased’s medical records if appropriate. And when the investigation is complete, we will discuss everything with you in a sensitive, approachable manner.
Challenging the validity of a will can be a difficult time, and the cost of legal action should not be an additional stress. With that in mind, Lanyon Bowdler has introduced a range of pricing options, including fixed fees and service level guarantees.
Claire Vale, associate solicitor, is the head of our contentious probate department and is a member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
