Proprietary Estoppel.

Proprietary Estoppel – Claims Surrounding Property Matters.

Proprietary estoppel is an unusual legal phrase, which essentially means claiming a piece of property which you feel has been promised to you.

People sometimes promise to leave something to someone when they die, typically a house, vehicle or valuable item, but then fail to make the necessary arrangements for that to happen.

Depending on the circumstances, it can be possible to take legal action to ensure their wishes are carried out, and the specialist lawyers here at Lanyon Bowdler have the experience and know-how to act as your guide in this difficult area of law.

The cost of legal action should never put you off from considering your options, so we offer fixed fee pricing as well as service level guarantees. You can then be sure of how much our services will cost from the outset.

Claire Vale, associate solicitor, is the head of our contentious probate department and is a member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) – along with only one other contentious probate solicitor in the local area.
